Our class is the first video :) Enjoy!!

The frogs visit my house :)

I took the classroom mascots home for a good "Spa Day" in the washing machine this weekend. They had a great time hanging out with a few of our furbabies in the house :)

Our kitten, Mia.

Our other cat, Gus.
Our black lab, Kai.

Tattling versus Telling

We have been having quite a few issues with everyone wanting to "inform" us about the little infractions that occur throughout the day (Bob is scribbling....Bob isn't my friend...Bob keeps looking at me...). Mrs. Henry (our guidance counselor) had a great lesson that she shared with our classroom. They had to choose a card and decide if the example was a "tattle" or something that needed to be "told" to the teacher (someone was in danger, someone was hurt, someone was stealing, etc.)! They had to choose the appropriate face for the body. It was a great lesson and I hope the students were able to understand the concept.

Valentine's Day Party

CHEESE!!

Silly pictures!
Our craft (thanks Ms. Dawn)!

Our bags....the students LOVED to deliver their own cards to their classmates. Reading their friends' names is one of the easiest things for them to do!

We played a sight word game where we chose hearts, read the words, and made tally marks next to the words.

Working on the carpet with our tally marks.

A classroom craft :)

They turned out great!

The frogs get a Make-Over

Aiden took our class mascots home the other weekend. He decided that they needed some clothes and went to Build-A-Bear workshop to grab some cute outfits. Thanks again Aiden and his Mom!! They were a huge hit with the students.

Science Experiment on Light

Step 1: Collect all materials and observe like a scientist.

Step 2: Make your prediction on whether light will/will not shine through each object.
Step 3: Turn off the lights and turn on the flashlight (I think this was the best part for the students. We had all the shades pulled down on the windows and it was "super dark" in our room)!

Step 4: Perform experiment together and fill in the correct answer.

Step 5: Compare your prediction with the actual results.

We had blast being scientists for the morning! We tied this in with our lesson on groundhogs and shadows.
